Homeopathy.......A Brief History
A German Physician Samuel Hahnemann, developed a 'new' form of healing called Homeopathy - from the greek homeoe (similar) and pathos (suffering). He criticized the 18th century practices of blood letting, burning the skin to release pus, purging etc. Instead he promoted an effective system of helping the body to heal itself through the principle 'like heals like' (a principle that carries on today).
In the 1830s Dr. F. Quin brought homeopathy to Britain. Homeopathy was introduced to the British aristocracy. This patronage extends to the present day. Modern Homeopathic practitioners work in the same way as their conventional colleagues. A detailed case history is carried out of the person's life, likes and dislikes, family history, etc., when working out the closest remedy (the simillimum) unique to them.
Homeopathy can be used as a first choice in a wide range of conditions and can also be a useful addition, or compliment in other situations, for example, to support good recovery after operations.
